Men’s Golf Tied for Sixth at Wingate’s Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Anderson University men's golf team finds itself tied for sixth place following opening-round action of Wingate University's Pinehurst Challenge at the par 72, 7122 yard layout at the National Golf Club on Monday.

Lincoln Memorial carded a team score of 296 (+8) on Monday to take the top spot following day one, two strokes ahead of host Wingate.

Sophomores Arran Setro and Sean Shelton each fired a five-over first-round 77 and are in a six-way tie for 21st, while freshman CJ Messana (79) sits two strokes further back in a tie for 32nd.

Senior Chase Epting (81) and junior John Moore (83) are tied for 43rd and 48th, respectively.
The final round is slated for Tuesday.
