EASLEY, S.C. - Anderson University junior John Moore fired an opening-round even-par 72 and leads the Southern Wesleyan Invitational by two shots following Monday's damp first round at the par 72, 6,796 yard Smithfield Country Club in Easley.
As a team, the Trojans (321) are in fifth place and trail the host Warriors by just two strokes and are just four shots behind third-place Spartanburg Methodist.
Sophomore Arran Setro shares the ninth spot after carding an opening-round 78 and senior Chase Epting (84) is in a tie for 32nd.
Sophomore Sean Shelton and Wheeler Renfroe each posted an opening-round 87 and share the 38th spot.
Weather permitting, the final round will be played Tuesday.
