Badruan and Wells Named Jimmy John’s Co-Athletes of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's lacrosse freshman Radyn Badraun and baseball freshman Gray Wells have been named the Jimmy John's Co-Athletes of the Week, for the week ending eight days ago.

Badraun, a freshman from Mission Viejo, Calf., had four goals and one assist, including the game-tying goal with 1:33 left in the win over No.13 Limestone on March 11th. On the season, Badraun is second on the team with 34 goals scored, and second on the team in points with 45.

Wells raised his batting average 159 points over a four-game span to help lead the Trojans to a 3-1 record – including a three-game sweep of Coker, March 10-11. The Chapin native batted .700 that week, while recording a .700 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage. He lifted his batting average from .231 to .390 over the road swing, while starting all four contests.

He began the week by going 4-for-6 at the plate and scoring four times in AU's three-run loss at Newberry, then went was 4-for-5 on the afternoon, with four singles and also reached base on a first-inning walk and a fourth-inning error in AU's come-from-behind win in the series opener at Coker. He was 3-for-5 with three singles and a run scored in the March 11 opener and was 3-for-4 in the nightcap, with three singles and a run scored.

Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
