Galliford Named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - After clubbing three home runs in a three-game series against Coker last weekend, senior outfielder Nathan Galliford has been named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for games played between Feb. 25-March 2, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

For the week, Galliford was 5-for-15 (.333) with three home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored, adding a double in the win against North Greenville. The senior's final home run of the week was the eventual game-winning run as he blasted a pitch over the center-field wall for a two-run home run. For the season, Galliford has seven round-trippers, one shy of the nation's lead in the category.

The native of Miami, Fla. was a key component for Anderson's three-game sweep over conference newcomer, Coker, who advanced to the Division II College World Series a season ago. With the sweep, the Trojans join three other SAC teams with three losses at the top of the league standings.

Galliford is the first Trojan since former standout Brett Scarberry to earn SAC Player of the Week honors on Feb. 14, 2012.

The outfielder looks to lead the Trojans on Wednesday when AU heads to Fluor Field, home of Minor League Baseball's Greenville Drive, to face Southern Wesleyan. First pitch from the scenic ballpark is scheduled for 5 p.m.
