BERKELEY LAKE, Ga. - Anderson University baseball right-handed pitcher Spencer Earle has been named Sunbelt League Pitcher of the Week for games played between July 15-21, announced by the league on Monday.

Earle polished off the week with a 2-0 record, tossing 12.2 innings and striking out 11 hitters, while giving up just two earned runs with five hits. His team, the Berkeley Lake Tides, went 4-1 on the week, as the Tides continue their push towards the league playoffs.

In his first start of the week, Earle went 6.2 innings and tallied five strikeouts, grabbing the victory over the Douglasville Bulls. On Saturday, the Covington, Ga. native held the Windward Braves to just one hit in six innings of work, earning the win, as the Tides cruised to a 6-1 victory.

For the season, Earle has tossed 37.0 innings and has recorded 36 strikeouts en route to a perfect 3-0 record in six starts. The Trojan currently ranks fourth in the league in ERA, posting a 1.70 mark.
