Women’s Cross Country Garners Third in Southeast Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released preseason regional rankings for the NCAA Division II 2011 season on Tuesday.

The Anderson women's team, tabbed as the top team in the South Atlantic Conference preseason poll, is the highest ranked of three squads from the SAC to earn a spot in the top 10. Five men's and five women's teams, who are defending champions in their respective regions, top the season's initial rankings.

The USTFCCCA national preseason poll will be released tomorrow, while the next regional poll is slated for Sept. 20.

Anderson opens the 2011 season Friday, Sept. 2, at the Eye-Opener in Greenville, S.C.
