Trojan Track and Field Wraps up Buccaneer Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Sophomore Mason Hazel and junior Olivia Gardner paced the Anderson men's and women's track and field teams, as the Trojans wrapped up action at the two-day East Tennessee State Buccaneer Invitational on Saturday at the ETSU/MSHA Athletics Center on David E. Walker Track at Gentry Field.

Hazel brought home third in the men's 3000 meter run in a time of 8:35.45, with junior Michael Burch claiming 17th in a time of 9:19.36. Junior Jesse Patrick crossed the finish line in 38th in the mile run after posting a time of 4:37.21. The men's 4x400 meter relay team of sophomores Christopher Burton, Caleb Stephenson and Rashod Monts, along with freshman Brandon Kauer finished 21st in a time of 3:27.61.

On the women's side Gardner finished seventh in the women's one mile run in a time of 5:15.33, while sophomore Haylee Love was 15th after posting a time of 5:21.37. Senior D'Yandra Morris finished 21st in the women's shot put with a distance of 11.54 meters

Sophomore Alex Dixon captured 24th in the women's 3000 meter run with a time of 11:19.12, while freshman Maddie Buddenberg claimed 28th in a time of 11:26.42. Sophomore Allison Halperin (11:40.87) crossed the finish line in 35th.

Sophomore Taylor Morris finished 69th in the women's 800 meter run, while freshmen Madison Seay (2:34.00) and Tori Cooper (2:35.80) finished 75th and 82nd, respectively. Fellow freshman Abby Bozarth claimed 84th in a time of 2:36.80.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Buddenberg, sophomore Hannah Sanford, junior Grace Gerlock and junior Mia Swierzs finished 33rd in a time of 4:53.12

The Trojans return to action on Friday at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Mich.
