Track and Field Wraps up Bob Pollock Classic with Impressive Marks

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up Clemson's Bob Pollock Classic with nine top-10 finishes, Saturday afternoon at the Tigers' Indoor Complex.

Junior Olivia Gardner placed fifth in the women's 3000 meters in a time of 10:29.83, with sophomore Hannah Sanford (11:04.34) and freshman Martha Coleman (11:06.94) finishing 14th and 15th, respectively. Senior D'Yandra Morris claimed sixth in the women's shot put with a toss of 12.05 meters, while freshman Tori Cooper finished seventh in the 600 meters in a time of 1:45.07.

Freshman Madison Seay (2:35.16) and sophomore Taylor Morris (2:35.87) finished 22nd and 23rd in the 800 meter run, with freshman Bailey Waldbart claiming seventh in the women's pole vault with a height of 2.85 meters.

Senior Ali Palacios claimed 26th in the 200 meter run with a time of 27.55, while the relay team comprised of junior Sherin Malone, Seay, Palacios and Cooper finished 12th in the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 4:09.00.

On the men's side, sophomore Rashod Monts crossed the line in fourth place in the men's 600 meters in a time of 1:28.34, with junior Eric Hoover placing 20th in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:21.14. Sophomore Anthony Aleruchi claimed ninth in the shot put with a distance of 12.68 meters and sophomore Caleb Stephenson was 13th in the 200 meter run with a time of 22.96.

Juniors Michael Burch (9:25.22) and Ned Kennedy (9:29.20) finished ninth and 10th in the men's 3000 meters, with sophomore John Drummond placing 14th in a time of 9:45.17. The relay team made up of Stephenson, Monts, sophomore Christopher Burton and freshman Brandon Kauer finished ninth in the men's 4x400 meter relay.

Anderson will get back in action at East Tennessee State's Buccaneer Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Johnson City, Tenn.
