Baxter Posts Stellar Outing on Day One of Lynchburg College Multi Event

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Anderson University standout Jill Baxter notched personal bests in all four events of the heptathlon that were completed on Monday, as the sophomore stands in third place following a rainy day one of the Lynchburg College Multi-Event.

The Denver, N.C., native captured first place in both the high jump and the shot put, with a height of 1.60 meters and a distance of 9.36 meters, respectively, in the adverse conditions.

She brought home fourth place in the 200 meters with a time of 27.60 and finished fifth in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17.23.

Baxter sits only 17 points out of second place, just behind Washington and Lee's Marissa Thompson, with the long jump, javelin throw and the 800 meter events scheduled to begin shortly after at 12:30 on Tuesday.
