CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Anderson University sophomore Jill Baxter finished 11th at the 49er Classic, hosted by UNC Charlotte at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center on Thursday and Friday.
The Classic began on Thursday morning and featured four events on opening day, with Baxter using a personal-best distance of 8.87 meters in the shot put to finish sixth in the event. She placed seventh in the high jump at 1.49 meters and 14th in the 200 meters in a time of 28.15 seconds. Her time of 18.89 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles was good enough for 17th.
Baxter, who was 11th after the opening day's four events, earned fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 26.04 meters and captured 15th in the 800 meter run, crossing the line in a time of 2:42.81. She posted a 16th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 4.57 meters.
