ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University women's tennis has been tabbed fourth in the South Atlantic Conference Coaches' Poll while four Trojans earn preseason All-SAC honors, released on Friday morning.

Wingate was voted as the preseason favorite with 10 first-place votes and 139 points. Newberry was voted second with one first-place vote and 123 points, while Tusculum was picked third with one first-place vote and 115 points. Anderson was voted in at No. 4 with a first-place vote with 108 points, followed by Carson-Newman at No. 5 with 103 points.

Lenoir-Rhyne placed No. 6 with 90 points and Limestone was voted No. 7 with 76 points. Lincoln Memorial took the No. 8 spot with 71 points, while Catawba was voted No. 9 with 56 points. Mars Hill followed with 52 points at No. 10, Coker was No. 11 with 44 points, UVA Wise was picked No. 12 with 20 points, and Emory & Henry was No. 13 with 17 points.

Senior Anna Greer was selected for both preseason All-SAC First Team- Singles and Second Team – Doubles. Greer posted a 12-7 overall record and a 7-4 SAC record in singles play while posting an 14-7 overall record and a 7-4 overall SAC doubles record in 2022, earning SAC Second Team Singles.

Junior Katie Robeson was selected to the preseason All-SAC Third Team. A season ago, Robeson posted a 16-6 overall record and 9-3 SAC overall singles record.

Newcomers Mariam Bayatyan and Alexandria Braithwaite both earned preseason honors after a fantastic fall season showing. Bayatyan was voted preseason All-SAC Second Team – Doubles and Third Team – Singles. Braithwaite was named preseason All-SAC Third Team – Singles.

The Black and Gold open their 2023 season at nonconference opponent Converse on Feb. 3rd. First-serve is at 1 pm.
