Dean and Men’s Tennis Earn Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis National Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. The Anderson University men's tennis team and women's tennis standout junior Laura Dean earned national rankings, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Oracle unveiled the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Rankings on Wednesday.

The computerized rankings publish the Top 50 men's and women's teams. ITA member coaches have access to the unpublished rankings (teams outside the Top 50). Prior to the shift to computerized rankings, a national rankings panel voted on the Top 25 teams.

The No. 23 ranked Trojans are currently 10-4 overall and 4-1 in South Atlantic Conference action highlighted by a recent win over No. 7 regionally ranked Queens. The Black and Gold are riding a five-match win streak heading into an away matchup with SAC opponent Catawba this weekend.

No. 25 ranked Dean is 10-3 overall at the No. 1 position with her three losses coming to ranked players. The native of Georgetown, S.C., was named to the SAC preseason first team singles and second team doubles.

National rankings will be released every Wednesday for the remainder of the 2018 season.
