TIGERVILLE, S.C. – With a sweep in the doubles round, Anderson University women's tennis used its momentum from a 3-0 start to cruise in the singles round as the Trojans shutout North Greenville, 9-0, Saturday afternoon the Vance Tennis Complex.
Juniors Laura Dean and Jacqueline Olivia teamed up to defeat Camille Duhan and Fernanda Delucca at the No. 1 spot, 8-1. Playing in the No. 2 slot, senior Ivey Welborn and Cameron Blanchard won over Faith Moyars and Laura Brazuelo, 8-3. The No. 3 slot was conceded by North Greenville to junior Jennifer Holcombe and freshman Hannah Weaver.
In the singles portion, no Trojan lost a set defeating the Crusaders 6-0 giving the Black and Gold a 9-0 victory to open the fall season.
Anderson will continue its fall play when it host Columbia College on Sunday, Oct. 8th. First serve from the AU Tennis Complex is scheduled for 1 p.m.
