CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Anderson University women's golf team is
in 10th place following Monday's opening-round at Wingate's 12th
annual J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate at the 5,823 yard,
par 72 Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.
Freshman Sarah Timms led the Trojans with a six-over par 78 and
enters Tuesday's final round just four shots off the pace and is in
an eight-way tie for 10th. Senior Laura Buyers (81) is three shots
further back in an eight-way tie for 29th, while sophomore Katie
Eskew posted an 84 and is tied for 52nd after the first round.
Freshman Natalie Feder notched an opening-round 85 and is tied for 58th, while senior Kalyn Johnson shot an 88 and is tied for 70th.
The Trojans are one stroke ahead of Catawba and just two shots behind Armstrong Atlantic and host Wingate, which are tied for ninth, and only four strokes behind seventh-place Tusculum.
Final-round action will take place on Tuesday.
