Women’s Golf in Ninth Place at Patsy Rendleman Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. - The Anderson women's golf team fired an opening round total 331 and sits in ninth place at the 2011 Patsy Rendleman Invitational, hosted by Catawba College at the 5,998 yard par-72 Salisbury Country Club.

Sophomore Katie Eskew's seven-over par 79 led the Trojans, with the Powdersville, S.C., native sitting in an eight-way tie for 15th entering Tuesday's final round. She is eight shots off the pace set by Newberry's Maria Luz Besio.

Freshman Natalie Feder carded an opening-round 83 and shares 39th, while senior Laura Buyers fired a first-round 84 and shares 45th. Junior Lindsay Parks posted a 13-over 85 on Monday to garner a tie for 50th. Senior Kalyn Johnson carded an 87 and is tied for 53rd .

The tournament concludes on Tuesday.
