ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University head men's and women's golf
coach Danny Neal has announced the addition of two stellar
student-athletes to each of the Trojan squads.

On the women's side, Natalie Feder, a native of Hartland, Wisc., will team with fellow newcomer Sarah Timms from Moore, S.C. on the links this fall.
Feder earned first-team All-Conference honors after posting a season stroke average of 78.5 and helping lead the Arrowhead High Warhawks to both the regional and sectional championships. She garnered second place at the Classic 8 Conference Tournament after carding a 75 and earned third overall in the Classic 8 Conference with a total of 314.
She was a medalist at Regionals with yet another 75, and was named Player of the Week twice by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, while also earning All-Area accolades.
Timms was a six-year letterwinner at Doman High School, helping
lead the Lady Cavaliers to four consecutive Region II-4A
Championships (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) and to second place in the
4A State Championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She was ranked No.
six among the class of 2011 in South Carolina by the S.C. Junior
Golf Association and ranked 280th in the nation by the National
Junior Golf Scoreboard.
She was named to the All-Area team by the Spartanburg
Herald-Journal back-to-back years (2009 and 2010) and earned
All-Region honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. Timms finished
second in the Region II-4A tournament in 2008 and 2009 with scores
of 78 and 75, respectively, while garnering third as a senior with
a 78.
Timms notched top-20 finishes in the state championship for three consecutive years, while earning several top-five and top-10 finishes with her best finish as fourth place in the 2010 Upstate Classic with rounds of 75-76. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Beta Club, Anchor Club and the Dorman Medical Society and graduated with a 3.9 GPA.
On the men's side, C.J. Messana was a three-year starter for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla, and served as team captain during his senior season, while posting a stroke average of 76.
Messana was named third-team all-county and earned the JGA of
Broward County Outstanding Golfer of the Year award. His low
tournament score came at the South Florida PGA event, when he
carded a 72-70. Messana was also named the junior varsity MVP
following his freshman season. He performed in the classroom as
well, graduating with a cumulative 3.8 GPA, and expects to major in
business at Anderson.
Wheeler Renfro, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, attended Turpin High
School and posted an average score of 75 during his senior
campaign, while carding a career-best 66.
Renfro earned his career-best finish by taking the second spot (out of 90 golfers) at the Princeton High School Invitational last season, while posting six top-10 finishes. He was named First-Team All-Fort Ancient Valley Conference, Honorable Mention All-Greater Cincinnati and the Spartans' Most Valuable Player as a sophomore in 2008.
He earned First-Team All-Conference and team MVP accolades again as a junior, while garnering First-Team All-Greater Cincinnati recognition and qualifying for the Southwest Ohio District Tournament.
