McNeill Earns D2CCA Southeast Region Women's Basketball Second Team Honors

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Anderson University graduate Shameka McNeill was named to the D2CCA Southeast Region Women's Basketball Second Team, released on Thursday afternoon.

The D2CCA announced North Georgia forward Julianna Sutton as its 2021-22 Southeast Region Women's Basketball Player of the Year, highlighting the D2CCA Southeast Region Women's Basketball All-Region Teams. The full list of all-region selections can be viewed below.

McNeill had a stellar season for the Black and Gold. On the year, McNeill finished the year averaging 22.1 points per game (36 points career high vs Coker), 3.6 rebounds per game, and 1.5 assists per game while leading the league and nation in scoring. The native of Charlotte, N.C. reached the 1000-point milestone, scoring 565 points during regular season play and was named the Statistical Champion for Points per Game (22.5). She scored a total of 619 points on the season. McNeill also ranked third in the SAC for steals per game (2.2) swiping a total of 58 for the season. 

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II Southeast Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all-region teams. The process concludes with All- American selections announced later in the month.

The NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners sponsored the All-Region teams.
