ANDERSON, S.C. –Anderson University women's basketball moved up a notch to No. 8 in the most recent in D2SIDA Regional Basketball poll, released on Monday evening.
The Trojans enjoyed a 2-0 week with home victories over Newberry and Lenoir-Rhyne to improve its overall record to 17-8 and 17-4 in South Atlantic Conference play.
Anderson joins three other SAC member schools in the rankings, with Wingate slotted third, Catawba positioned No. 6 and Carson-Newman seventh. Peach Belt Conference members occupy three slots, No. 2 North Georgia, No. 4 Lander and No. 5 Georgia Southwestern State. Conference Carolinas members Barton occupy the top-spot with Mount Olive No. 9 and Chowan No. 10.
The Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its eighth season of existence. During the season, the regional polls are released every Monday (until the NCAA begins releasing its regional polls), followed by the national poll every Tuesday.
