ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University softball senior Kayson Boatner and freshman Carson Hobbs earned All-SAC accolades, released by the league.
Boatner, a senior from Phenix City, Ala., earned SAC First Team honors as a first baseman and was named the SAC Statistical Champion in Slugging Percentage (.920) and Home Runs Per Game (.037). Boatner batted .420 with an On Base % of .515. She collected 55 RBI which ranked 2nd in the SAC and blasted 17 home runs for a first-place ranking in conference action. Boatner has amassed a SAC and AU record of 78 career home runs.
Hobbs, a freshman from Nicholson, Ga., landed on the SAC Third Team as a pitcher/utility player. As a pitcher, Hobbs made 19 starts with 29 appearances and posted an overall record of 12-7 (1 sv), pitching over 135 innings. At the plate, Hobbs batted .347 with six doubles and 15 RBI.
Anderson is slated to begin SAC Softball Championship play on Thursday when it travels to Wingate to face the N0.1 seeded Bulldogs. First-pitch is slated for 3:30 pm.
