Track Trio Competes at Prestigious Gina Relays

HILLSDALE, Mich. – Three Anderson University track standouts, including senior Olivia Gardner along with juniors Haylee Love and Mason Hazel, competed late Friday night at the 51st Annual Hillsdale College Gina Relays.

The trio was among more than 1,450 athletes from across all NCAA divisions, ranging from the University of Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame to Division III powerhouse Calvin.

Hazel finished sixth in the men's 10,000 meter run in a time of 30:34.13, while Gardner crossed the finish line in 12th place in a time of 10:57.58 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Love posted a 22nd-place finish in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:35.56.

Junior standout Christopher Burton, the reigning South Atlantic Conference titleholder in both the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash, will be running in the 100 meter dash at North Carolina A&T in two weeks. The Johnston, S.C., native has already secured a spot in next month's NCAA Outdoor championships with the second-fastest time in the NCAA D-II ranks this season.
