Men’s Golf to Wrap up Fall Campaign at Donald Ross Intercollegiate

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's golf team will close out its fall season on Monday and Tuesday, when the Trojans travel to Morganton, N.C. for the Donald Ross Intercollegiate, which will be hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne at the Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club.

Last season, the 54-hole tourney featured a par-70, 6,718 yard layout, with Monday's opening day consisting of 36 holes of play with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

This marks the third consecutive season that AU has competed, with last year's sixth-place finish eclipsing the Trojans' 10-place finish in 2017.

Cal Brock fired a two-over-par 72 in last year's final round and finished in a four-way tie for sixth place, while Jake Miller carded his best round of the year in the final round with a 3-under-par 67 and claimed a share of 11th place. Colt Martin finished in a six-way tie for 28th place a year ago, while Drake McAlister finished in 92nd place.

The Trojans finished 10th two weeks ago at the Sixth Annual North Georgia Fall Invitational, with Miller pacing AU by finishing in a three-way tie for fifth, with freshman Reece Coleman claiming a share of 10th place. Brock finished in a tie for 44th, while freshman Caleb Henson closed out the tourney in a tie for 69th place. Classmate Anthony Sutton rounded out the Trojan contingent alone in 77th place.

Through three tournaments, Miller and Coleman each own a 71.86 unadjusted stroke average, with Sutton recording 75.57 unadjusted stroke average and Brock just behind with a 75.60 average.
