Men’s Golf Set for North Georgia Fall Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's golf team is slated to compete in its third tournament of the fall season on Monday and Tuesday, when the Trojans travel to the mountains of the Peach State for the Sixth Annual North Georgia Fall Invitational.

The Nighthawks will host the two-day, 54-hole event at the 6,967-yard, par-72 Achasta Golf Club, which has been served as home of the PGA Tour's 2007-2008 AT&T Classic Qualifier, 2002-2006 Bell South Classic Open Qualifier, 2002 Georgia State Amateur Qualifier, 2003 US Open Qualifier and the 2004 Georgia State Mid-Am Qualifier.

Monday will feature 36 holes of play with the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Tournament awards will be presented to the top finishing team, the individual medalist and an All-Tournament team of the top-5 players.

Joining the Trojans in their first-ever appearance at the two-day event will be the host Nighthawks, Albany State, Carson-Newman, Clayton State, Georgia College, King, Lenoir-Rhyne, Limestone, Newberry, North Greenville, Southern Wesleyan, West Georgia and defending champion Young Harris.

Newberry won the team title in 2016 and 2017, with Lee University claiming the 2015 championship.

The Trojans opened their fall slate with a runner-up finish at the AU Invitational, then finished in a tie for 15th two weeks ago at the Kiawah Island Invitational.

Freshman Anthony Sutton led AU with a tie for 37th at Kiawah, with senior Jake Miller finishing in a tie for 41st. Freshman Reece Coleman claimed a share of 61st place, while freshman Caleb Henson finished 84th. Senior Brady Cox finished in 87th place.
