Men’s Golf Readies for Kiawah Island Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. – After posting a second-place finish at last week's AU Invitational, the Anderson University men's golf team is set to compete at the Kiawah Island Invitational, which is slated to be hosted by USC Aiken, Monday and Tuesday at the Osprey Island Golf Course.

Joining the Trojans at the two-day event will be the host Pacers, Georgia College, Columbus State, Southern Wesleyan, Lee, Lander, Lenoir-Rhyne, Eckerd, Valdosta State, Fayetteville State, Chowan, Rollins, Clayton State, Erskine, Mount Olive, West Georgia and Limestone.

Trojan freshman Reece Coleman, who was bidding to become the first golfer in program history to take home individual medalist honors at the AU Invitational, finished tied for first but fell in a one-hole, sudden death playoff to Southern Wesleyan's Eric Shea, the defending champion.

Senior Jake Miller finished in a tie for fifth place, while freshman Anthony Sutton shared seventh place. Another newcomer, Caleb Henson, finished 19th, while senior Brady Cox finished in 30th place. Junior Cal Brock claimed a share of 31st place, with senior Drake McAlister finishing in a tie for 34th place. Junior Colt Martin rounded out the Trojan contingent at Cobb's Glen by finishing 50th.
