GREER, S.C. – Anderson University rising senior Jake Miller carded his third consecutive even-par 71 on Saturday and is tied for 35th place entering Sunday's fourth and final round of the 88th South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA) Men's State Amateur Championship.
The four-day event is being hosted at the 6,703 yard, par-71 Thornblade Club.
Tyler Gray, from Lugoff, S.C. (67+66+67=200), owns a two-stroke lead over Kershaw's Logan Sewell (66+68+68=202), while first-round leader Jake Carter (64+70+69=203) and Christian Salzer (69+68+66=203) are both one shot further back in a tie for third place.
Miller (71+71+71=213) offset five bogeys on the day with an equal number of birdies en route to his even-par effort, with all five birdies coming on holes that the Anderson native reached par on during the tournament's first two rounds. He is in a three-way tie for 35th and is five shots out of a tie for 16th.
