Sunset Beach, N.C. - The Anderson men's golf team trimmed six strokes off its opening-round and closed out the 2010 Lenoir-Rhyne/Myrtle Beach Golf Intercollegiate in 12th place Tuesday afternoon at the Sea Trail Golf Resort.
Led by freshman Arran Setro's (81-77=158) four-stroke
improvement, Anderson carded a final-round 313 to claim the 12th
spot. Setro and two teammates, Austin Carney (80-78=158) and Jacob
Yoon (79-79=158) all three carded identical two day totals and
finished tied for 43rd.
Freshman Reed Kerwin (80-79=159) was one shot further back,
garnering 48th with sophomore Chase Epting (80-81) taking a share
of 56th.
Coker College (585) claimed the team title by seven strokes over UNC Pembroke, while Lincoln Memorial (598), King College (603), Wingate (611), Lees-McRae (612), Erskine (615), Walters State (616), Lenoir-Rhyne (624), Lincoln Memorial (627), Brevard (627), Anderson and Mars Hill (644) rounded out the 13-team field.
Anderson gets back on the links Saturday at the Boscobel Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford at the Boscobel Country Club in Pendleton, S.C.
