Trojans Tied For Second After First Round Of CVAC

PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Anderson College men's golf team is tied for second place after the first round of the 2004 CVAC Championship at the Foxfire Golf and Country Club Sunday afternoon. Anderson shot a spring-low 296 to trail first-round leader Belmont Abbey by two shots. Limestone is tied with Anderson at 296, and Coker is one shot back at 297. Anderson was led by Brad Eskierka, who shot a 1-over 73 on the par-72, 6,800-yard Foxfire layout. Kyle Owings and Andrew Corley, both shot 74, and Denton Moore shot a 75 for the Trojans. Kristian Day of Pfeiffer, Chase Roberts of Queens (N.C.), and Johary Raveloarison of Coker all shot a 71 to share the individual lead after the first round. The second round of the 54-hole event will be played Monday morning.
