NEW LONDON, N.C. - Denton Moore shot a 75 to lead Anderson College to a team score of 306 in the first round of the Johnny Palmer/Old North State Invitational Tuesday at the Old North State Golf Club. Anderson is in 12th place in the 22-team field but just nine shots out of the top five. USC Aiken is the first-round leader at 286. Guilford is second at 293, Carson-Newman is third at 295, and Coker is fourth at 296. Following Moore for AC were Kyle Owings, Jonathan Ferguson, and Andrew Corley, who all shot 77. The final round will be played Wednesday morning.
