Due West, S.C. - After 5 ties and 9 lead changes, the Trojans triumphed the pesky Fleet 78-77 and now stand at 11-11 overall and 9-6 among Conference Carolinas opponents. Anderson sweeps the season series and has won four in a row over Erskine. The Trojans defeated the Fleet 72-66 at The Abney Center in January. Neither team could gain any ground during the first minutes of play, but during the last 9 minutes of the first half, the Trojans outscored the Fleet 30-17 as they went into the ahead 50-37. Erskine slowly chiseled away at the deficit they faced, eventually taking the lead (62-61) with 11 minutes to go off of a Brandon Wright field goal. From here out, neither team would have more than a 4 point advantage. With under 2 minutes to play, Boulware struck again to give the Fleet the upper hand. With 1:29 left on the clock, Boulware converted on a lay-up and was fouled on the play. He nailed his free-throw to bring Erskine to within one 74-73. Then with :27 remaining, Boulware drove baseline for a reverse lay-up and again drew a foul. He missed the free-throw but gave Erskine the 75-74 lead. The Fleet seemed to have control, but Anderson's Nick Trull had other plans. Trull pulled up from behind the arc to drain a 3-pointer and draw a foul. He converted from the charity stripe to give the Trojans the 78-75 lead. Anderson immediately committed a foul to keep Erskine from attempting a 3-pointer sending Brandon Wright to the line where he drained 2 to bring Erskine to within one (78-77) with :05 left to play. Erskine then fouled Brandon Young who would miss his first free-throw but gained his own rebound as the clock ran out. Anderson's Stephen Cobb led the Trojans with 21 points while Trull and Young hit for 19 and 14 respectively. The Trojans will play at home again this Saturday as they host St. Andrews at 4:00 PM.
