TROJAN TRACK & FIELD GET TWO PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

HIGH POINT, NC--Candace Homer has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women's Tack Athlete of the Week during week number five in the 2009 outdoor season. Homer's 800 meters time of 2:21.55 was a season best and a school record. With this time, she placed sixth at the Furman Invitational. The freshman Homer's time leads the Conference Carolinas competition by over four seconds. Homer led the 4x400 relay team to a fourth place finish at the Furman Invitational with 4:06.31. It was the best time in the Conference Carolinas by 11 seconds. Anderson University's Katelyn Rodgers has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women's Field Athlete of the Week during week number five in the 2009 outdoor season. The sophomore standout posted top five performances this week in field events at the Furman Invitational. Rodgers', from Wanaque, New Jersey, score in the high jump leads the Conference Carolinas by over four inches. Her 5'2" high jump earned her second place finish this week. Pulling double duty, her performance in the javelin throw was 86'8" good enough to win third place.
