HIGH POINT, NC--Anderson University's Lauren Sloan has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's field Athlete of the Week during week number three in the 2009 outdoor season. It is the freshman's second consecutive player of the week honor. Sloan had another outstanding performance at the Emory Classic this past weekend. She shined again in women's shot put grabbing first place and a single-event team high 10 points. Sloan then turned around and posted a personal best and school record in the hammer throw. Her throw of 118-08.00 gave Anderson another three points in route to a top ten finish at eighth place. Sloan by herself accounted for 13 of Anderson University's 17 team points.
