Track Team Sets Seven School Records At Coastal

CONWAY, S.C. -- The Anderson University track team set seven school records at its first outdoor meet of the season at Coastal Carolina Mar. 15. For the men: -- Aaron LaGarde posted a school record in the triple jump with a leap of 48-5.25. LaGarde's triple jump was good enough for a provisional qualifying mark for the Division II national meet. LaGarde also set a school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.74. -- Nate Parsons set a school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:42. -- AU soccer player Rayon Markland tossed the javelin 172-0 to set a school record. -- Dave Berry (hammer, 132-3) and Jason Bryan (5,000 meters, 16:04.50) both set personal bests. For the women: -- Thomasena Smith set a school record in the 200 meters with a time of 25.94. -- Kurtina Ricketts set a school record in the 100 meters (13.12). -- Durecelle Campbell had a school-record toss in the hammer (87-2). -- Gleynnda Craig (discus, 87-2) and Katelyn Rodgers (javelin, 78-0) both set personal bests.
