AU Track Teams Open Indoor Season At Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. -- The Anderson University track and field teams participated in the Clemson Opener Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at the Clemson Indoor Track facility. Forty schools from Division I, II, and III participated in the meet. Anderson athletes broke seven school records and set three new records. The men's team broke four school records -- Zeronn Forte (7.24, 60-meter dash); Zeronn Forte (23.67, 200-meter run); Alex Jordan, Stephen Dickey, Aaron LaGarde, and Joe Holzinger (10:53.7, distance medley relay, 6th place); Aaron LaGarde (22-8.5, long jump, 7th place). The women's team broke three school records -- Kurtina Ricketts (8.27, 60-meter dash); Diana Willard (19:30.21, 5,000-meter run, 2nd place); Thomasena Smith, Lynne Flint, Ashley Blome, and Chelsea Rogers (13:54.23, distance medley relay, 8th place). There are three new school records set -- Thomasena Smith (35-10.75, triple jump); Durecelle Campbell (29-6.5, weight throw); Dave Berry (34-10.25, weight throw). Among the other notable performances for Anderson were: Stephen Dickey (4:36.58, mile run, 7th); Alex Jordan (4:36.90, mile run, 8th); Nate Parsons (9:17.38, 3,000-meter run, 9th); Kurtina Ricketts (27.65, 200-meter dash); Chelsea Rogers (3.24.18, 800-meter run); Lynne Flint (2:34.63, 800-meter run); Ashley Blome (2:36.14, 800-meter run); Thomasena Smith (16-8, long jump); Ashley McClellion (11:46.47, 3,000-meter run).
