Track Teams Record Five Personal Bests

SUWANEE, Tenn. -- The Anderson University women's team finished fourth and the men's team finished 12th at the University of the South Indoor Meet last Saturday. The women's team had three personal bests -- two by Thomasena Smith (long jump, 17-8 3/4; triple jump, 36-9). Smith's long jump tied her for first place and also set a school record. The third personal best was by Kurtina Ricketts (55 meters, 7.59 seconds). The men's team had two personal bests, one by Aaron LaGarde and one by Zeronn Forte. LaGarde finished second in the triple jump (47-5 1/4). His performance in the triple jump was the 15th best jump in Division II this year. LaGarde also finished second in the long jump (22-0 3/4). Forte recorded a time of 6.71 in the 55 meters to set a school record. Other top performances for the women were: -- Ricketts, 200 meters, 27.19, eighth -- Smith, 200 meters, 27.22, ninth -- Ashley Blome, 400 meters, 1:04.18, fifth -- Chelsea Rogers, 800 meters, 2:32.75, third -- Diana Willard, 3,000 meters, 11:04.53, second -- Distance Medley Relay (Blome, Willard, Rogers, Smith), 13:42.38, second place and school record -- Katelyn Rodgers, high jump, 4-11 3/4, sixth Other top performances for the men were: -- Joe Holzinger (800 meters, 2:04.04), sixth -- Nate Parsons (3,000 meters, 9:27.69), seventh -- Jeremy Hunsaker (3,000 meters, 9:28.24) eighth Both Anderson teams will participate in the Clemson Indoor Meet this weekend.
