Women's Golf Fires Season-Low Round

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Anderson University women's golf team shot a season-low 325 in the first round of the Agnes McAmis Memorial at the Link Hills Golf Club Monday. Anderson is in fifth place after the first round. Belmont Abbey is the leader of the 13-team event with a 299. The Crusaders are followed by Pfeiffer (305), Wingate (310), and Shorter (323). The individual leader after the first round is Daniela Vargas of Shorter, who fired a 3-under 69. Brittany Beltran of Pfeiffer is second at 1-under 71. Anderson was led by Hayley Parks, who shot a 75 that included a one-putt eagle on the par-4, 240-yard 12th hole. Following Parks for Anderson were Sophie Dembroski 80, Lindsey Vallo 85, and Kim Hausman 85. The second round will be played Tuesday morning.
