Trojans Rout Erskine for Fourth Straight Win

DUE WEST, S.C. - With four players reaching double figures, the Anderson women's basketball team opened a brief two-game road swing by cruising past Erskine, 88-56, Wednesday night at Belk Arena.

Anderson (5-3) won its fourth consecutive decision and fifth in its last six outings, while claiming its 10th consecutive win past Erskine and 14 of the last 15 meetings versus the Flying Fleet. Erskine fell to 2-3 on the season while dropped its second straight.

The Trojans opened the game by scoring the first eight points and never trailed, holding the Flying Fleet scoreless through the first 4:22. Erskine senior guard Porsha Morgan got the Fleet on the scoreboard with a jumper, but Anderson countered with 10 unanswered points to build an 18-2 cushion with 13:13 remaining in the opening half and held a 37-18 halftime lead.

Junior forward Tilde Ahlin and freshman guard Sierra Simpson shared game-high scoring honors with 16 points apiece, with the tallies representing career-highs for both players. Simpson also equaled her career-high with seven rebounds, while handing out a career-best five assists and grabbing four steals. Guard Alissa Diaz added 13 points and five assists and teammate Amanda Parris chipped in 11 points and handed out a game-high six assists. Freshman center Jaclyn Moore collected a career-high eight rebounds in just 16 minutes of action.

Morgan scored 13 points for Erskine.

The 13 3-pointers were a season-high for the Trojans and the most since also connecting on 13 treys at Newberry last February, while the 88 points was the highest offensive output since defeating St. Andrews, 103-63, on March 1, 2009.

Anderson wraps up the road swing at USC Aiken on Monday, then welcomes the Pacers to the Abney Center on Dec. 17. Tip-off in Aiken is scheduled for 7 p.m.
