ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University tennis standouts Catherine Blouin and Lorenzo Martinetti have been named the Jimmy John's Female and Male Athletes of the Week.
Blouin, a freshman from Augusta, Ga, helped lead the Trojan women's squad to a 7-0 win over USC Sumter last Saturday afternoon, while defeating the Fire Ants' Grace Krusling, 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 1 slot in singles action.
Martinetti, a sophomore from Torino, Italy, won the Blue Flight at the South Carolina Collegiate Championships played in Belton, last weekend. He rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Luis Yanine of Limestone, 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-0.
Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
