ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University cross country junior Whitney Hanson and men's tennis senior Aaron Cabo have been named the Jimmy John's Female and Male Athletes of the Week.

Hanson, a transfer from Minot State, finished fifth overall out of 208 runners at last weekend's NCAA Southeast Regional Preview in Spartanburg. She covered the 6K distance in a personal-best time of 22:20.

Cabo notched a 6-2, 3-6 (10-3) singles' victory over USC Sumter's Ruben Emmerson-Hiini, last Saturday, then paired with teammate Adam Kush to claim an 8-4 win on the doubles side.

Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
