Men’s Soccer Releases 2017 Schedule

Men’s Soccer Releases 2017 Schedule

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's soccer head coach Michael Zion has released his 2017 schedule.

The Trojans finished 7-6-3 overall during the 2016 campaign with six matches ending in double overtime. Despite playing solid soccer, the Black and Gold missed postseason play for the first time since joining the South Atlantic Conference. With a solid core returning and the addition of quality newcomers expectations are high for Trojans.

The 2017 men's soccer schedule features six non-conference matches and 10 SAC matches with eight of the contests being played at home.

Zion on the 2017 schedule: "HeroSports.com rated our strength of schedule last year 15th out of all Div. II teams and I think this year's schedule is even tougher. We will face six of the Southeast Region's top eight teams this fall, including the 2016 National Champions. We have always made it a point within our program to compete with the best teams. Every day we simply want to get better and by challenging ourselves to compete at the top level is all part of it. Our expectations are always set high, no matter what our previous season looked like or what our schedule may be. At the end of the day, we want to be considered one of the top teams in the Region and the best way to achieve that is to play with the teams who are already there."
