Trojan Trio Honored by South Atlantic Conference; Team Earns Fair Play Award

ROCK HILL, S.C. - After advancing to the semifinals in the South Atlantic Conference Championship, Anderson University men's soccer placed three on the all-conference teams, as junior Cameron Emerson earned second-team honors, while teammates Josh Calabria and Thomas Joergsholm were placed on the honorable mention team, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Emerson earns his first postseason honor for his career. The junior midfielder scored two goals on the season while recording four assists. The Auckland, New Zealand native has started in 16 of the 17 games he has played.

Calabria has started in all 17 matches and has played a vital role for the Trojans. The Canberra, Australia native has scored five goals while assisting on two. The senior defender's year has been headlined by his two goal, one assist effort against Southern Wesleyan at Trojan Stadium. Calabria was picked as an All-SAC Preseason Second Team honoree at the start of the 2017 season.

Joergsholm joins Calabria on the honorable mention team, scoring five goals and five assists on the season. The freshman forward scored two goals and one assist in a 3-2 home win over Lander earlier in the season. To close out regular season SAC play, Joergsholm scored the initial goal in the Trojans 2-1 victory over Mars Hill to help solidify a spot in the SAC Championship.

As a team, Anderson was the recipient of the Fair Play award which is given to the team that demonstrates model behavior and the spirit of fair play throughout the season. The Trojans only received 11 yellow cards during SAC play and 22 overall in 16 matches.

Anderson will meet up with No. 7 Queens in the semifinals on Friday. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Rock Hill's Manchester Meadows.
