Trojan Trio Honored by South Atlantic Conference

ROCK HILL, S.C. - After seeing its 2015 season come to a close on Tuesday in the South Atlantic Conference Championship quarterfinals, Anderson University men's soccer placed three on the all-conference teams, as senior Andre Carle earned first-team honors, while teammates Erik Dahlbeck and Ryo Ogawa were placed on the second team, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Carle earns his third postseason honor for his career and his second all-conference first team selection. The senior closed the year with seven goals and three assists, wrapping up his career with 25 goals and nine assists in three seasons. Carle's season was headlined by scoring the eventual game-winner in a 4-2 triumph over Catawba on Oct. 17, while also scoring the first AU goal to lead the 3-2 comeback victory against Newberry on Oct. 8.

Dahlbeck earns his first conference accolade in his first season with the Black and Gold. The Stockholm, Sweden native finished the campaign with three goals and a pair of assists while ranking behind Carle for second with 26 shots. The freshman became a fixture as an attacking midfielder with starts in all 17 matches.

Ogawa joins Dahlbeck on the second team, closing the season with a goal and two assists. The defender scored his first goal in a Black and Gold uniform in Anderson's convincing 4-2 victory over Catawba on Oct. 17. The Simonoseki, Japan native also distributed the assist on the eventual game-winning goal in the Trojans' narrow 1-0 victory at Tusculum on Sept. 26. Ogawa joins his brother, Shu, as Trojans to earn postseason all-conference honors after he landed on the first team following the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
