ANDERSON, S.C. - With four goals from four different players, Anderson University men's soccer bounced back into the win column with a 4-2 victory over Catawba in a South Atlantic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Trojan Stadium.

AU (7-5-1, 6-2 SAC) continues its recent dominance over the Catawba Indians, as it improves to 5-0-1 since entering the SAC prior to the 2010 campaign. The Trojans have captured five straight conference victories and are one triumph away from matching 2014's win total. With the setback, Catawba drops to 4-8 overall with a 2-6 mark in conference play, as it remains winless for the month of October.

After 20 minutes without a goal, the Trojans found the scoreboard first in the 22nd minute of play when freshman Erik Dahlbeck sent a cross to the middle of the Catawba box and found senior Andre Carle. Carle settled the ball and fired a shot over the head of Catawba goalkeeper Christian Watts and into the back of the net to give the home side a 1-0 lead. For Carle, the goal was his fifth of the season and 23rd of his collegiate career.

Moments later in the 24th minute, newcomer Lars Kaula lofted a cross into the box and found a streaking Ryo Ogawa at the far post. Ogawa fought off a Catawba Indian defender and knocked in his first goal of the season to hand AU a two-goal advantage.

The scoring streak continued in the 30th minute when Catawba committed a foul just outside its own 18-yard box, giving the Trojans a free kick. Sophomore defender Josh Calabria stepped up and hooked in a shot that left Watts standing still for Anderson's third goal of the afternoon, leading to a convincing 3-0 advantage.

Before the halftime break in the 34th minute, Catawba cut into the Black and Gold's lead when Bradley Dowdall slotted in his second goal of the season after grabbing the rebound from a Devon Ashy save. The goal would send the match into halftime with the Trojans controlling, 3-1.

After the halftime break, Catawba was whistled for a handball inside its own box which sent Kaula to the penalty spot for the fifth time this season. Kaula chose the right side and punched in Anderson's fourth and final goal of the afternoon. For Kaula, all five of his goals this season have come from the penalty spot, as he continues to lead the conference in penalty-kick goals.

The Catawba Indians scored a late goal in the 87th minute off the foot of Kenny Bonilla when AU committed a handball inside its own box. Bonilla notched his sixth goal of the season and closed out the match's scoring, setting the final score at 4-2.

Both goalkeepers failed to make a save in the second half, as Ashy totaled a match-high two saves, while Watts grabbed one Anderson shot.

The Trojans continue SAC play on Wednesday when they head to Queens. Kick-off from Dickson Field is slated for 5 p.m.
