CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After a wild first half that saw four goals, Anderson University men's soccer could not find a game-winning goal, as Queens University of Charlotte knocked in a golden goal with seconds left in the first overtime period and snapped the Trojans' five-match South Atlantic Conference winning streak, 3-2, Wednesday evening at the Queens Sports Complex.

With the setback, the Trojans drop their second straight road contest and move to 7-6-1 on the season with a 6-3 mark within the conference. The Royals, who are a perfect 4-0 against AU since joining the SAC before the 2013 season, improve to a perfect 7-7 overall record with 5-4 mark in the league.

The goals came quickly, as just before the two-minute mark, Queens found the scoreboard when freshman Corey Brown chipped in the home side's first goal of the evening when a through ball was placed into the box from teammate Marc-Kevin Schwenk. Moments later in the eighth minute, Brown assisted on Schwenk's goal, as the Royals took an early 2-0 lead.

Anderson bounced back in the 27th minute when defender Nick Bryant fed senior striker Andre Carle for his sixth goal on the season, pushing the score to 2-1. In the 37th minute, Carle struck again when he blew by the Royal backline to even the score at 2-2. For Carle, the goal would give him his second multi-goal match this season and his sixth goal in his last six contests.

As the 2-2 score sent the match to the halftime break, both teams could not find a game-winner in the next 45 minutes, sending the conference clash into overtime. In the previous three matchups between Anderson and Queens, three meetings needed extra time.

With the clock reading less than 10 seconds to play, Brown found the home side's golden goal with just two seconds left to give the Royals the 3-2 victory. For Brown, the goal was his eighth of the season.

The Trojan offense was led by Carle with four shots, while defender Josh Calabria followed with two shots and one shot on frame. AU goalkeeper Devon Ashy grabbed four saves, while his counterpart, Matt Current closed the match with a match-high five saves.

Anderson looks to get back on the winning track on Saturday when it returns to Trojan Stadium for Homecoming against Lincoln Memorial. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
