Conlin Named AstroTurf SAC Volleyball Specialist of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University freshman Emily Conlin has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Specialist of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

The setter from Glendale, Ariz., is the first Trojan to earn a weekly SAC volleyball award in the highly competitive league since former conference Player of the Year Hailey Pittman garnered the honor in late October, 2014.

Conlin played in all 10 sets for the Trojans over the weekend, helping lead the Black and Gold to sweeps of Clark Atlanta and West Georgia at the Hughston Clinic Invitational in Columbus, Ga. She handed out 93 assists in three contests, including a season-high 33 in AU's setback to Armstrong State.

The newcomer averaged 9.30 assists per set, which currently ranks fourth in the league. She also came up with 18 digs and four block assists on the weekend, while dishing out a combined 60 assists in the back-to-back wins over Clark Atlanta and West Georgia.

Conlin and the Trojans open conference play Thursday at Coker. First-serve is slated for 6 p.m. at the DeLoach Center.
