Ward, Cox-Ashwood, and Lessey Named to SAC All-Conference Second Team

ANDERSON, S.C. – Harry Ward, Alexandre Cox-Ashwood, and Tevin Lessey have been named to the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer All-Conference second team, announced on Tuesday (Apr. 6). Agustin Ortiz and Andres Osorio were named honorable mentions.

Ward, a senior forward from Clarksville, GA, was tied with Caleb Compton as the leading goal scorer for the Trojans this season with three. Harry assisted on the match winning goal in the win over Newberry on April 1, setting up Tevin Lessey for the score. Before the season, he was recognized as a All-SAC preseason first team selection.

Cox-Ashwood, a senior from France, was a preseason All-SAC second team selection as well. Alexandre scored his second goal of the season in last week's win over Newberry. For the season, he is tied for second on the team with two goals and two assists. In the SAC quarterfinals win over Mars Hill, Alexandre assisted on two goals to help lead the Trojans to the 8-0 victory.

Lessey, a senior defender from the Trinidad and Tobago, has helped lead the Trojan back line to four shutout victories this season. Tevin also made an impact offensively, scoring the match winning goal against Newberry last week.

"We are happy to see five of our players get recognized by the conference," said coach Michael Zion. "We have a lot of talented guys, and this recognition is really a testament to our entire team."

The Trojans are getting set to take on Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC Semifinals on Thursday (Apr. 8) at 7:00. Live coverage can be found at www.autrojans.com.
