GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Paced by junior Katie Eskew's two-day 17-over-par 161, the Anderson women's golf team finished 14th at the Agnes McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum College at the par-72, 5,805 yard Link Hills Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The host Pioneers (305) claimed a one-stroke victory over Lander for the team title in the 17-team event. North Greeneville (628), Lincoln Memorial (632) and Shorter (639) rounded out the top five.
Anderson (662) trailed Carson-Newman (655) and North Georgia (655) by seven strokes and finished 10 shots ahead of Pfeiffer (672) and 28 strokes ahead of Erskine (690).
Eskew (83-78=161) trimmed five shots off her opening round and moved up 15 spots to finish tied for 27th, while freshman Garyt Hamilton (83-84=167) and sophomore Sarah Timms (84-83=167) finished six shots further back, and shared the 50th spot. Freshman Arista Setro (86-83=169), who competed as an individual, placed 59th.
Sophomore Natalie Feder (89-87=176) tied for 82nd. After being forced to withdraw during Monday's first round due to an injury, senior Lindsay Parks bounced back to equal Eskew's low-round 6-over-par 78 on Tuesday.
In the Beville Cup competition, the Trojans earned a point and took a 7.25-6.25 lead in the battle for possession of the trophy, with two points remaining (men's tennis and softball).
The men's tennis point will be determined Thursday in Anderson. The softball teams are slated to meet on Monday at AU's Smethers Field.
