Adkins, Eastman Honored By CVAC

PINEHURST, N.C. -- Kathryn Adkins of Anderson College was named the first CVAC women's player of the year Saturday night at the annual conference golf banquet. Adkins, a senior from Easley, S.C., has a stroke average of 82.43 in eight tournaments this year. Her lowest 18-hole score is a 76 and her lowest 36-hole tournament score is 156. Adkins has one top-five finish and four top-10 finishes. Adkins also was named to the All-CVAC first team. Carlie Eastman, a freshman from Warren, Ohio, was named All-CVAC honorable mention. Eastman has a stroke average of 86.35 in seven tournaments. Her lowest round of the year is an 81. The first CVAC women's golf championship tournament tees off Sunday at the Foxfire Golf and Country Club in Pinehurst.
