Women’s Hoops Game Notes Released for No. 3 Lincoln Memorial

ANDERSON, S.C. - The game notes for the Anderson University women's basketball team's quarterfinal matchup with third-seeded Lincoln Memorial have been released.

After suffering a stunning defeat, 68-57, at the hands of Queens University of Charlotte last Saturday Anderson shifts its focus to the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament as it earned the No. 6 seed, finishing the regular season with a 15-13 overall record and an even 11-11 mark in SAC play.

The Trojans enter this season's SAC Tournament as the defending champions, stringing together three-straight wins, capped off by a memorable 55-52 win over Tusculum in last year's championship game, earning the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. There, AU was eliminated in the opening round by Pfeiffer, 84-78.

Anderson begins its 2014 tournament campaign with a trip the No. 3 seed Lincoln Memorial, which enters Wednesday with a 16-10 overall record and a 15-7 mark in conference action. The Lady Railsplitters closed the regular season with four-straight victories, including a 59-56 win at regular-season co-champion, Wingate on Feb. 22. LMU went 5-3 for the month of February and closed out the year with a 71-62 win over Catawba on Saturday.

This season, the Lady Railsplitters captured victories in both meetings with Anderson, beginning with a 63-50 win in Harrogate on Nov. 30, followed by a 62-58 triumph at the Abney Athletic Center on Jan. 8. AU looks to avoid the season sweep, after the Trojans took all three meetings between the teams a season ago, including last season's quarterfinal contest.

The game will be broadcast on www.redzonemedia.com and the Anderson web site at www.autrojans.com, along with video and live stats. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
