Women’s Basketball Game Notes Released for Queens

ANDERSON, S.C. - The game notes for the Anderson University women's basketball team's road contest with South Atlantic Conference opponent Queens have been released.

After clinching a spot into next week's Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament with its 80-57 victory over Tusculum on Wednesday evening, Anderson looks to move up in the final SAC standings for a higher seed in the annual postseason tournament. Unable to earn a home game, the Trojans could finish as high as fifth and as low as eighth in the tournament bracket, which will be announced at the conclusion of Saturday's game.

Anderson closes its 2013-14 regular season schedule tonight against SAC newcomer Queens at the newly built Curry Arena-Levine Center. The Trojans will look for a season sweep of the Royals after a 74-61 victory at the Abney Athletic Center on Jan. 25. Since the win over Queens, AU is 5-4 as it enters the weekend with a 15-12 overall record and an 11-10 mark in SAC play. Two other conference teams hold an identical 11-10 league record, as Anderson is in a three-way tie for fifth-place joining Newberry and Carson-Newman.

Since their setback in Anderson, the Royals are just 1-8, including a six-game losing streak. Queens broke its losing skid with a 69-64 win over Carson-Newman on Feb. 22 in Jefferson City. Most recently, the Royals are coming off a 56-46 setback against Catawba on Wednesday evening in Charlotte. Overall, Queens is 6-19 for the season, while holding a 5-16 conference mark, making tonight's matchup the final game for the Royals for the 2013-14 campaign.

The game will be broadcast on FOX SPORTS Radio 1280 AM, WANS and will also be available on the internet at www.wrixfm.com and the Anderson web site at www.autrojans.com, along with video and live stats. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
