Trojan Track Closes Indoor Regular Season at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Anderson track and field teams wrapped up their regular-season indoor schedule with impressive performances Saturday at Clemson's Tiger Tuneup.

School records continued to fall, as two Trojan women collected three first-place finishes, while five AU men posted six top-10 finishes.

Junior standout Whitney Bishoff notched two first-place finishes - garnering the top spot in the mile run with a school-record time of 4:57.25, while freshman Lydia Davis (5:15.85) placed sixth as both runners' times bested the former school benchmark. Bishoff also earned first-place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:06.07.

Thrower Lauren Sloan took the top spot in the shot put, besting her recent mark by nearly a full meter with a toss of 12.46 meters.

Senior Katelyn Rodgers finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters and after setting a new benchmark just two weeks ago at ETSU, sophomore Krishaun Hall posted yet another new AU standard with her 25.94 time in the 200 meter dash finals, crossing the line in the ninth spot.

Freshman Terrance Jefferson (12th) topped his own school record, set just last week, by garnering a school-best 7.05 time in the 60 meter dash preliminaries, with teammate Josh Butler (13th), finishing on his shoulder with a time of 7.06, with both times bettering the previous AU record.

Jefferson followed up with another benchmark with a time of 22.75 in the 200 meter dash, collecting an 11th place finish.

Will Belue (4:33.89) and Nigel Reynolds (4:40.09) finished sixth and ninth, respectively, in the mile run, while Kyle Koby (8:55.23) and Alex Pena (9:13.28) garnered fifth and eighth in the 3000 meter run.

Jefferson also notched an eighth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters, while Zach Hart also posted an eighth-place finish in the pole vault at 4.35 meters.

Will Byars closed out the action by finishing sixth in the shot put with a distance of 13.71 meters.

Anderson now turns its attention to the outdoor season, opening the schedule at the Lenior-Rhyne Powersox Invitational on Saturday, March 5, in Hickory, N.C.
