Track and Field Continues Strong Indoor Season

CLEMSON, S.C. - Returning to the same venue where they set eight school records two weeks ago, the Trojan track and field teams continued to post strong outings at the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted by Clemson University Friday and Saturday at the Tiger's Indoor Track & Field Complex.

Junior runner Whitney Bishoff placed fifth in the mile run, crossing the line in a time of 5:04.19, while senior Katelyn Rodgers tied for seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters.

Freshman Lydia Davis (3:06.27) garnered 10th in the 1000 meter run, while Isabel Berry crossed the finish line in 24th with a time of 3:36.01 and while thrower Lauren Sloan placed 10th (11.41m) in the shot put. Senior Durecelle Campbell claimed 11th in the weight throw at 14.16 meters and sophomore Krishaun Hall finished 18th in the 300 meter dash with a time of 42.43, while

The AU 4x400 meter relay, consisting of Davis, Hall, Kathryn Purinton and Bishoff captured the 20th overall spot with a time of 4:20.22.

Freshman Terrance Jefferson continued to notch school records, garnering a school-best 7.07 time in the 60 meter dash preliminaries to eclipse teammate Josh Butler, who posted a time of 7.08.

The Mount Pleasant, S.C., native followed with a school-record time of 22.62 in the 200 meter dash, finishing sixth, while Butler (22.93) crossed the line in the 12th spot.

Nigel Reynolds (1:59.55) and Will Belue (2:036.59) finished 23 and 41st respectively in the men's 800 meter run, while Matthew Shaffer claimed an eighth-place finish in the 1000 meter run.

Anderson's 4x400 meter relay, consisting of Shaffer, Belue, Deniz Hay and Reynolds claimed 15th in a time of 3:37.75.

The Trojans close out their indoor season next week at Clemson's Tiger Tune-up before taking a two-week break and opening their outdoor season at the Powersox Invitational, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne.
